Saxophone Shop Manager & Specialist

From Maplewood, MN Keegan graduated from Tartan High School in 2014 and from Bethel University in 2020. Keegan graduated Bethel with a degree in K-12 Instrumental Music Education and a second degree in Saxophone Performance. In his time at Bethel he studied privately with Gary Crowe and was a member as well as section leader of the Bethel University Wind Ensemble, 5:40 Jazz Orchestra, and 11:12 Jazz Orchestra. While a member of the Bethel University Wind Ensemble he had the opportunity to tour the Midwest in the spring of 2018 and perform David Gillingham’s “Double Image: Concerto for Two Saxophones.” He also was a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Handbell Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra with which he toured the Midwest performing Alexander Glazunov’s “Concerto for Alto Saxophone” in the spring of 2019. That same spring he completed his semester of student teaching at White Bear Lake High School where he had the opportunity to direct 5 different concert bands, coach jazz bands, and run woodwind sectionals. Keegan was a member of the Schmitt Music MI sales team in Woodbury in 2017 and 2018, and is thrilled to be back with the company and looks forward to serving you and your students!

Dave is Schmitt Music’s Director of Sales for saxophones and clarinets, and a Saxophone Specialist. He has extensive experience helping musicians of all skill levels at the retail level and outreach events at schools, conventions, festivals, and other events. Thanks to Dave’s hard work and dedication, Schmitt Music’s Sax Shop has become one of the largest and best saxophone pro shops in the country. Of course, Dave also maintains an active gigging life, staying very much in touch with what’s happening in the world of saxophone performance across numerous musical genres. Whether it’s jazz or funk, Dave’s playing has been described by Saxontheweb web forum users as “the real deal.”
