Please join us for a recital featuring pianist Eddison Chen, a student of Jung Spooner, performing at Schmitt Music Kansas City on Monday, June 17 at 7PM!

Pianist and noted pedagogue Jung Spooner has established a reputation as one of the leading piano teachers in America and is the star of the show A Life of Music, already viewed in 18 countries, that documents her teaching and a household full of pianists.

Eddison Chen

Eddison Chen, 9 years old, has been selected as a semi-finalist for two of America’s most prestigious international piano competitions, the Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition in New York City and the 34th Annual International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington, D.C. Both of these events feature the top young performers from around the world and will take place next month.

Eddison has been studying the piano under Jung Spooner since the age of five and half years old and has accumulated an impressive number of victories such as Winner of the 2018 Steinway Competition, 2nd Prize at the 2018 Chicago International Piano Competition as well as the Special Jury Prize for best Etude, Honorable Mention at the 2016 Los Angeles International Young Pianist Competition and Winner of his division at KMTA for the past three years. Aside from piano, Eddison enjoys learning Match and playing chess. He is nationally ranked, among the top 3 players in the US Chess Foundation in his age division. Eddison loves traveling throughout the country participating at national chess tournaments and piano competitions.
