Native Kansan Miles Swaminathan, who just celebrated his fourteenth birthday, began private piano studies seven years ago. Since then, he has distinguished himself both locally (Heartland Chamber Junior Music Festival, 2014 and 2015) and as a merit scholar at Indiana University’s Piano Academy (2016 and 2017.)

Miles is an avid listener whose tastes range from Liszt to Led Zeppelin, Mozart to Metallica. He comes by his love of jazz naturally—it’s genetic! A fan of Star Wars, Marvel’s Avenger series, and the Three Stooges, Miles also enjoys golfing and swimming (when he’s not practicing!).

Miles would like to take this opportunity to thank his supportive parents Amy and Ram Swaminathan, his current piano teacher Karen Kushner, and the kind and helpful folks from Schmitt Music.
