Kelly mouthpieces, known for their Lexan pieces popular in the marching/outdoor performance world, have introduced a new and growing line of stainless steel mouthpieces. While their offerings include trumpet, horn, and tuba we are going to focus on their trombone line.
Stainless steel has become a buzz word in the brass mouthpiece community over the past few years. Makers have been exploiting the possibilities of this material to produce tighter tolerances and players enjoy the hypoallergenic qualities, feel and overall response differences from plated brass. Kelly offers their pieces in a variety of sizes from a 12C-type piece to a Schilke 60, extremely large bass trombone setup.
