Play Van Cliburn’s Steinway at MSU Denver!
A favorite Steinway from Van’s home in Texas is touring the USA, making an exclusive Auraria campus visit to MSU Denver! All are welcome to play during the “Pay-to-Play” Scholarship Fundraiser on Sunday afternoon, October 20, during which Peter Rosen’s fascinating Cliburn documentary film will also be shown.

Friday, October 18: 5 – 7PM Pre-theater Happy Hour with Van’s Steinway at the Springhill Suites hotel on the downtown Auraria campus, just across Speer from the Denver Center for Performing Arts. Current piano students and alumni will play jazz standards and light classics on this beautiful grand piano.
Saturday, October 19: 6 PM reception, 7:30 PM concert – Annual Music at MSU Denver Scholarship Benefit Event at the King Center for the Performing Arts will also feature this fine Steinway. A pre-concert reception will include silent auction items for the Cliburn Steinway Play-a-thon on Sunday and keyboard area support!
Sunday, October 20: 1 – 5 PM Afternoon Pay-to-Play Marathon! You may listen to or play this spectacular instrument. Official Steinway Certificate of participation. Online requests for 5-minute increments: 1 – 3 Public permitted/ 3 – 5 PM Private sessions. $5/minute minimum suggested donation. Film screenings at 2 and 4 PM. King Center for the Performing Arts.
