Nancy Bachus presents Teaching with Style

Piano teachers! Join us at Schmitt Music Roseville on Tuesday, July 24 from 10:15am – 11:45am for a FREE WORKSHOP presented by Nancy Bachus!

Using her “Spirit” series and the newer “Exploring Piano Classics,” Nancy Bachus will focus on how to teach stylistic differences. Related technical patterns and touches will be demonstrated and appleid directly to masterworks, along with ways to help students organize, and learn the importance of a daily “warm-up.”

An overview of technical development will be presented through a planned sequence of progressive technical patterns. Nancy will also be sharing many of her extremely successful teaching techniques.

Piano & vocal teacher, Leann Spike, will perform Broadway showtunes, rock and pop favorites on a Roland piano. After the performance, our Schmitt Music product specialists will answer questions and showcase the great features of ROLAND keyboards.

LeAnn is an experienced teacher with a relaxed teaching style, promoting lifetime enjoyment of music. She has a B.S. from St. Cloud State University. LeAnn also has extended education from the U of M, Bemidji State University, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Michelle SislerMichelle Sisler’s Bio:

When Michelle was little, she used to sit down at her toy piano and play songs, by ear, along with the jukebox. This was how her parents discovered her talent and love for music and enrolled her in piano lessons at the age of seven.

Michelle’s use of technology and creative teaching materials have gained her national recognition and a unique place at the forefront of music education. Along with teaching 50+ students per week, Michelle is the founder and Chief Manager of Keys to Imagination, LLC. She has presented sessions at The National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, Music Teachers National Association Conference, and various state conferences and local groups and has written technology articles for Keyboard Companion, Clavier, and American Music Teacher. Michelle’s graduate work in Instructional Design and teaching experience have helped her author Studio Makeover: Technology “Addition”®, Are We There There Yet? A Musical Journey Around the Globe®, A Walk on the Wild Side®, Road Trip: America the Beautiful®, and Double Click Curriculum®.

Michelle currently lives in Owatonna, MN with her husband, Kevin, and their twins, Brandon and Brianna. She enjoys scrapbooking and traveling.
