Jazz Jam Session:
Jazz Jam Session
Hello Everyone! The Schmitt Music Team is excited to bring back the Jazz Jam Session for Make Music Day. The Jazz Jam Session will be an hour-long jam. Never been to one? Here's what to expect: There will be a packet of jazz standards for Bb, Eb, C and bass clef instruments. You will have the opportunity to play on as many or as few songs as you would like. There will be chances for you to solo with group too. Don't fret, we won't make you solo if you don't want to! Jam sessions are meant to be fun, and if you don't play the "right" notes, that's what jazz is! Dave Strong and Keith Hilson will be there to help guide the group through the tunes.
On Make Music Day we will have handouts with all of the tunes in them, but if you would like to practice the tunes beforehand, they can be found in the Real Book linked below.
Beginner:
Freddy Freeloader and Maiden Voyage
Intermediate:
It's Don't Mean a Thing and Sidewinder
Advanced:
Groovin' Hard and My favorite Things
