Pre-Owned Rath R12 Small Bore Tenor Trombone

Based in the UK Rath Trombones have become a staple in the custom trombone world, offering top-tier quality combined with hand-built nuance and exceptional designs, both in functionality and aesthetics.  The R12 is one of their staple small bore tenors, featuring a .481”/.491” bore handslide with a variety of bell, tuning slide and outer handslide material options to fine-tune the experience for the player; this particular R12 has an 8” yellow brass bell (.7mm flare gauge, .5mm spout/stem gauge), a red brass tuning slide and nickel silver outer handslide with nickel silver crook. This R12 is in excellent condition; outside of a few small scratches on the bell flare and tuning slide, as well as a small spot of acid bleed near the handslide receiver, the lacquer is in pristine shape and the handslide is a 9.5+/10.  This trombone has an amazing connectiveness and depth of sound for it’s size, with an attractively balanced warmth while remaining efficient and responsive.  it maintains it’s timbre throughout it’s registers and dynamic ranges; when pushed the sound gains some edge but maintains a lot of the overtones and timbre.  It is an extremely easy instrument to play, effortless in it’s response and with a color palette that can work in small group settings while allowing the ability blend in larger ensembles or project when needed.  Comes with two Rath leadpipes.
