The Connstellation line of brass were Conn's top-end instruments in the 1950's and 60's. The 48H Connstellation features an 8" "Electro-D" bell (yellow brass, copper- and nickel-plated), .500" handslide with yellow brass outer tubes, nickel silver oversleeves and nickel silver crook, yellow brass tuning slide and nickel silver neckpipe.

This 48H is in better-then-average condition; the overall lacquer is 85-90%, with minor wear on the bell and tuning slide and more typical wear on the neckpipe and handslide braces; the bell is essentially ding/dent free.  The handslide is a 9+/10; there is no evidence of redrot on the outer tubes and no wear on the inner handslide stockings, which is rare for Conn's of this era.  This 48H is one of the better playing examples of this model we have had in the shop.  It has a good deal of the classic Connstellation core but is wonderfully vibrant, with a clarity in it's timbre, an easy and intuitive response and excellent upper range access and slotting.   A great playing example of this model in very good condition, this would be a great choice small group, big band or solo players alike.  Comes with the original Conn woodshell case.
