Jeff Iverson

Jeff Iverson is a retired band director from the Staples Motley School District and is currently a part-time employee for Schmitt Music. He has been with the company since 2016 as an Educational Consultant. During his teaching career, Mr. Iverson studied conducting with Frederick Fennell, Mallory Thompson, Craig Kirchoff, Richard Blatti, Richard Hanson, Paul J. Christiansen, J. Robert Hanson, Russell Pesola and Weston Noble. While teaching, Mr. Iverson estimates that he has conducted in over 300 concerts, between 700—800 games, 20 Pit Orchestras and coached over 1200 solos and ensembles. He attributes the success of the SMHS band program to the many satellite groups which perform yearly or on a bi-annual basis. These groups include: polka band, madrigal brass, Christmas brass, Christmas woodwinds, pep band, jazz band, pit orchestra, community band, community jazz band and pit orchestras, as well as solo and ensemble contest entries which average around 40 entries per year. He has recently been hired as the artistic director for the Staples Area Men’s Chorus and has established a classic rock band named the “River Rats”. Mr. Iverson is happily married to his wife Kathy and has four adult daughters: Rebekah, Kirstin, Lynnea and Jenessa. He is also proud to say that he now has six grandchildren.
