Edwards set out to produce an instrument with none of the compromises of the modern trumpet; this research and development resulted in the Edwards X-13. Its lightweight design, large bell throat, and sweeping curvature in the tuning slide and bell crook provide an ease of performance and a warm, rich sound perfect for combo jazz, stage bands, and virtuosic solo performance. This instrument is exceptionally mouthpiece sensitive, allowing the performer to switch timbre easily with a change in mouthpiece. The interchangeable harmonic pillar system gives each performer further customization in timbre and response of the instrument.
The X-13 is available in raw brass, lacquer, silver plate, or satin finish.
