The Denis Wick Steven Mead SM5 Euphonium Mouthpiece was developed with euphonium player Steven Mead and features refinements to the throat and backbore to complement the instrument’s conical bore. The SM5 is designed to provide a good balance between resistance and airflow, with a response that works well across the range of the euphonium.
The SM5 has a 25.75 mm cup diameter, 6.63 mm rim width, and 7.3 mm throat with a barrel backbore. It is silver plated and made with a large shank for modern large-shank euphoniums.
