Andrew Theesen

Andrew joined the Schmitt Music team in February of 2025 and brings a lifelong passion for music and music education to his role. He works closely with band and orchestra directors as a trusted resource for schools, helping support strong programs and make music education accessible and exciting for all students.

Music has been a central part of Andrew’s life from an early age, beginning with singing in children's groups, and later expanding to playing trombone and drums in band and participating in choir throughout high school and beyond. That well rounded background allows him to connect naturally with students, educators, and families at every stage of their musical journey. One of his favorite parts of the job is helping younger students take their first steps in music and build confidence and creativity along the way.

Outside of Schmitt Music, Andrew is a devoted husband and dad to two daughters. He continues to stay active in music by singing and playing drums at his church and performing with multiple groups throughout the Sioux Falls community.
