Make Music Day

Make Music Day is an internationally recognized holiday celebrating making music. All ages and abilities are invited to take part in the joy of making and enjoying music. Join us at Schmitt Music Brooklyn Center for live performances, check out some video performances here, and make music of your own today!

Below, you will find pre-recorded performances by Schmitt Music staff who want to share their love of making music.

Performances:

Musicians will be presenting live music across many genres, including classical, pop, jazz, folk, and more. There is sure to be a performance for everyone. Live music begins at 10AM and runs until 8PM at Schmitt Music Brooklyn Center.

Celebrate Make Music Day with the following live performances

From 10-8, free live performances will be held in two performances spaces. Enjoy live music and light refreshments throughout the day. All ages and abilities are welcome to perform for Make Music Day. In addition to solo piano performances, and performances by Schmitt Music Instrument specialists throughout the day, here are some you won't want to miss!

At 2pm, join us for a performance by Zimmerman Middle-High school jazz ensemble, 31 Below.

At 3pm, enjoy the Rogers HS Jazz ensemble

At 4pm, all musicians are welcome to join a live rhythm section for a jazz improv open jam session featuring Schmitt Music's very own Keith Hilson, Dave Strong, and company!

And at 7pm, an Acoustic Taylor Swift Cover set by Brian Kalina
