
About Keith Hilson
Director of Brass Sales/Low Brass Specialist
Keith Hilson holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Master of Music in trombone performance from the University of Minnesota. For the past 20 years, Keith has been performing as a freelance musician and music educator. Now based in Minneapolis, MN, with his wife and two children, Keith has completed his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree (ABD) at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities under Professor Tom Ashworth and currently performs with jazz, Latin and classical ensembles throughout the Twin Cities. Keith had been Manager of the Trombone Shop at Schmitt Music since 2015, and is currently the Director of Sales for the brass instrument category.

About Justin Schoenherr
Low Brass Specialist
Justin graduated from the University of Minnesota – Duluth in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and in 2017 began studies at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities for both a Master’s in euphonium performance, and DMA in Low Brass Performance, consecutively. He enjoys a busy schedule both inside and outside of the Trombone Shop performing with a list of local groups including the Twin Cities Brass Band on bass trombone, a polka band called the Jolly Huntsmen on tuba, and the Triforce Trombone Trio. He is a regular sub for groups such as the Sheldon Theatre Brass Band, Genesis Jazz Orchestra, and the Roseville Big Band. Justin also maintains a private studio through Schmitt Music Woodbury where he teaches trombone, euphonium, and tuba. His teachers include Daniel Eaton, Dr. Derek Bromme, and Dr. John Tranter. Justin Schoenherr is the current Low Brass Specialist at Schmitt Music.
