Join us for a vibrant celebration of music on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, as Make Music Day comes to Schmitt Music in Bloomington! This year, we're hosting a fantastic lineup of FREE jam sessions for musicians of all ages and abilities to come together and share their love of making music. Calling all clarinetists! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, join us for a fun and collaborative clarinet choir reading session. Similar to our popular flute choir event, this is a fantastic opportunity to play through ensemble pieces with fellow clarinet enthusiasts. Bring your Bb, A, Eb, or any other clarinet and experience the joy of making music together!

Back for its fifth incredible year! Led by the dynamic duo of Dave Strong and Keith Hilson, our Jazz Jam Session has become a Make Music Day tradition at Schmitt Music. This welcoming and inclusive event is designed for all skill levels and all instruments. Whether you're a seasoned jazz cat or just curious to explore the genre, come join the fun! We'll be providing repertoire from real books in various keys at the event, ensuring everyone can participate.

Calling all gamers and music lovers! Get ready for an exciting new event for Make Music Day! Following their debut season as Minnesota's first video game orchestra, the Twin Cities Gamer Symphony Orchestra invites you to bring your favorite video game soundtracks to life! Jam out with fellow fans on iconic tunes from the games you love. All ages, all abilities, and all instrument types (including vocalists!) are welcome to join this community jam session taking place in the Schmitt Music concert hall.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their tablets to read through selected titles chosen from vgleadsheets.com.
A small amount of printed sheet music will be available in all keys.

A returning favorite from the past two years! Schmitt Music is thrilled to partner again with the Upper Midwest Flute Association for our popular Flute Choir Reading Session. Bring your flute, alto flute, bass flute, or even your contrabass flute and immerse yourself in the beautiful sounds of flute ensemble music. This event perfectly embodies the spirit of Make Music Day – connecting through the joy of shared musical experience.

All skill levels and appreciative listeners are welcome!
