Instrument Repair Service | Omaha, Nebraska

Schmitt Music Omaha has featured a full-service instrument repair shop since 1985. Our shop currently employs four technicians with over 160 years combined experience, servicing instruments including brass, woodwinds, orchestra, guitars, and percussion. We repair instruments for local customers and service over 110 school districts in Nebraska and Iowa.


Lucas Abraham

Shop Supervisor

Lucas graduated of Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing, MN where he completed his AAS degree in Band Instrument Repair. Before attending Red Wing, Lucas received his bachelor’s degree in clarinet performance at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. While at Concordia, Lucas performed in several ensembles including both The Concordia Band and The Concordia Orchestra and was even selected as a winner of the Senior Honor’s Concerto and Aria Competition his senior year. A native of Brookings, SD, Lucas moved to Omaha in 2021 to work as a repair technician at Schmitt Music with a specialty in woodwind repair. His hobbies include cooking, camping, following baseball, and spending time with his dog, Willow. Lucas is currently a member of the Omaha Symphonic Winds.


Dave Polson

Woodwind Repair Technician

Dave is a lifelong resident of Omaha, Nebraska. His roots are intertwined throughout the music community of Omaha. Dave has 38 years of music repair experience working with both brass and woodwinds. He has repaired horns for M&M Music, Tom’s Music House in Fremont Nebraska, Hornworks, and now is a part of the team at Schmitt Music. Dave has also played sax professionally nationally and locally with many bands, including the Mighty Jailbreakers and the Confidentials. He brings a well-rounded and diverse knowledge to the repair shop at Schmitt Music. Dave’s favorite place to grab a bite is at Netty’s Fine Mexican Food where he’ll eat anything on the menu.


Meghan Coppola

Woodwind Instrument Repair Technician

Meghan is our newest member to the Omaha Repair Team. Along with a degree in Instrument Repair from Redwing, MN. Meghan holds a Music Business Degree from Stetson University in Florida. Meghan is a very accomplished flute and piccolo player. She served in the armed forces with the 4th Infantry Divison band at Ft. Carson Colorado. Her favorite local restaurant is Greek Islands. One of her favorite past times is hiking and her favorite video game is Celeste.


Zach Jeppesen

Violin Family Repair Technician

Zach is currently a junior at the University of Nebraska Omaha studying Music Entrepreneurship. Before arriving at Schmitt Music, Zach spent two years studying string repair under Sarah Gray of Sarah E Gray Restoration. After finishing his bachelor’s degree, he plans on attending Luthier school to further specialize in violin family repairs. At UNO, Zach plays upright bass in one of the school’s ensembles, the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra. His hobbies including playing Super Smash Bros and eating fries at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.


Andrew Sprague

Instrument Repair Technician

Andrew is a student at University of Nebraska Omaha studying Music Education with an instrumental focus. In addition to playing saxophone in multiple ensembles at school, Andrew gigs regularly with several groups in the Omaha area including the Matt Wallace trio. At Schmitt Music, Andrew is a general repair technician who specializes in saxophone. His favorite musical artists include Kenny Garrett, Dick, Oatts, and Kendrick Lamar. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing video games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
