Kay Luedtke–Smith

Music Therapist

Kay received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Following graduation Kay completed a six month internship at Courage Center in Golden Valley. She began her career working with senior citizens. Then five years later Kay found her true passion, serving typical and special needs preschool children. During her 24 years at Fraser School in Richfield Kay developed a National Roster Internship Program and trained 62 full time interns and over 70 practicum students. In 2014 Kay founded a pediatric private practice called Do Re Me Music Therapy located in Minnetonka. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Music Therapy Association of Minnesota in 2016. Other professional activities include serving on the board for the Music Therapy Association of Minnesota as President Elect, President and Past President from 2004 -2009. Since 2010 Kay has served as the Association Internship Approval Committee Representative for the Great Lakes Region of the American Music Therapy Association.


Kathy Petersen


Kathy has a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. She has been playing piano since 1986 and teaching piano since 2009. Currently a student of the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Music Development Program, she is working towards her certification in Piano Pedagogy in elementary, intermediate and advanced piano. She has experience teaching students with varying special needs from beginning to advanced, from ages 7-100+. She sings in the alumni choir and the Masterworks Chorale at Augsburg College and has volunteered as a pianist at a local hospital. Sharing the love of music through piano instruction brings joy to both her personal and professional life. Kathy says, “I have FUN teaching and playing!”
