Schmitt Music’s Chamber Music Festival is an enriching two-day introduction into the exciting world of string quartet performance featuring the Lux String Quartet, a professional quartet based in the Twin Cities. Students will receive private lessons with members of Lux, receive a crash course in instrument care with a virtual tour of the Paul A. Schmitt Violin Shop, and get a glimpse into the life of a professional musician.
All participants will prepare their part from a string quartet in advance of the festival, and will have the chance to not only learn it with their peers in a group class and sectionals, but have the opportunity to virtually perform it with the members of Lux!
Whether or not students have previously played chamber music, this focused festival will give a deeper appreciation for its rich and expressive sounds, while teaching string players how to express themselves through music in a fun and supportive environment.
