e-Commerce Specialist

Schmitt Music is seeking an e-Commerce Specialist for our Brooklyn Center, MN (moving to Bloomington in 2022) location. As an e-Commerce Specialist, you will create and implement strategies that make online transactions possible. This position is the point of contact for all customer on-line inquiries. The successful candidate will help fulfill our mission: Enriching lives by helping people make music.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Set standards, systems, and best practices for new product listings, content creation, distribution, and maintenance.
  • Work closely with different teams (product management, graphics, Director of Sales) to provide updated content that will be shared across e-Commerce platforms.
  • Coordinate with fulfillment specialist to ensure all orders are fulfilled within one business day or customers are contacted on status.
  • Manage inventory across various platforms for bulk editing and proper translation.
  • Create pre-order statuses for out of stock inventory
  • Facilitate photos of our in-house brand products
  • Provide support in other areas of Media Marketing
  • Be a subject matter expert to assigned product categories.
  • Identify best practices regarding inventory, pre-orders, and pricing policies.
  • Monitor changes in product sales
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries, including but not limited to; order status, order placement, shipping, and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in a fast-paced, e-Commerce business.
  • Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining e-Commerce websites/portals.
  • Knowledgeable of the e-Commerce space that includes marketing strategies, product development, competitive strategies, consumer research, industry trends and usability best practices.
  • Knowledge of various platforms and online sales strategies and can be used to conduct digital sales or website conversions.
  • Familiarity with web design and a keen eye to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical and multitasking skills.

Work Environment:

  • Retail and office-type working conditions.
  • Physical Demands: The responsibilities of this position may frequently require using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. This position may often involve standing, walking and sitting. This position may sometimes involve climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • The person in this position may lift up to 20-30 pounds
