Kenneth Broberg, Van Cliburn Competition

Schmitt Music is proud to share that Twin Cities native Kenneth Broberg is one of this year’s competitors in the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, widely-recognized as “one of the world’s highest-visibility classical music contests.” We wish him the best in the upcoming competition!

Mr. Broberg was just named the 13th winner of the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition in England! Click here for an article about that event (on Brera-London.com).

Kenneth Broberg was a student of Dr. Joseph Zins at Crocus Hill Studios in St. Paul from the age of 6 through high school, and he currently studies with Steinway Artist (and 2001 Cliburn gold medalist) Stanislav Ioudenitch at Park University’s International Center for Music in Parkville, MO – our newest All-Steinway School! Mr. Broberg presented a program at Schmitt Music Edina earlier this year.

The FIFTEENTH CLIBURN COMPETITION features 30 accomplished young pianists, hailing from 16 nations, who will be welcomed May 25–June 10, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas, to compete for gold and more than $200,000 in prizes. Learn more here: cliburn.org.
