Pianist Stephen Stouder in Concert at Schmitt Music Edina

Please join us for a free concert by pianist Stephen Stouder at Schmitt Music Edina on Wednesday, June 24 at 7PM!

Stephen Stouder is an amateur pianist who has competed in events including the Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition. The evening’s program includes the first movement of Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 3,” Chopin’s “Fantaisie in F minor” and Beethoven’s “Sonata 27 in E minor.” Seating is limited, so RSVP to save your seat!

Stephen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. Stephen began his musical studies on violin at the age of 8. He switched to cello and started piano lessons at the age of 10. He was a member of orchestras including the William & Mary College Community Orchestra where he was Principal Cellist. He performed on the piano, playing concertos with the orchestras he belonged to growing up. Stephen currently studies under Julia Elkina at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis. He was a participant in The Van Cliburn International Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in Fort Worth, Texas, May 22 through May 29, 2011. He will be participating in the Hans Von Bulow International Piano Competition in Meiningen, Germany, June 27th through July 4th 2015.
