For string students who are looking to expand their
performing experience with a group of their peers!
The objective of the Orchestra Continuo group experience is to increase the community’s access to musical opportunities that promote personal and musical growth, technique, performance, and the ability to play well with others in one ensemble.
In addition to private lesson opportunities for string students, we are now offering an oppurtunity to expand the abilities of these students. Playing by yourself can become boring over time and there are critical skills that can only be obtained by playing in an orchestra. We're excited to provide an easy and accessible ensemble without the pressure of auditioning!

Scheduling
The Schmitt Music Orchestra Continuo In-Store Program will be run in three quarter sessions.
Each quarter will provide players with (9) 55-minute rehearsals and one concert to be played at the end of the quarter.
Summer 10-week Program begins Tuesday, June 19
Orchestra 1): Grades K-5 - Tuesdays, 12:00 - 12:55 pm
Orchestra 2): Grades 6-8 - Tuesdays, 1:00 - 1:55 pm
Orchestra 3): Grades 9-12 - Tuesdays, 2:30 - 3:30 pm
Concert will be on Tuesday, August 21
Pricing
If you are a Schmitt Music Private Lesson student or an Orchestra Continuo School student, you receive a discounted tuition price of $80 per quarter. For non-Schmitt Students, the tuition price is $100 per quarter. There is a $15 music fee for each student every quarter.
Materials
Each student is asked to bring their own music stand. Discounted stands will be available for purchase at the Burnsville location. Music fee covers cost of scores for each orchestra group to experience three selections during each quarter.
Location
Orchestra rehearsals will take place in our Schmitt Music Burnsville location.
Orchestra Student Structure
Each orchestra must have a 8 student minimum in order for it to begin rehearsals. Maximum for each orchestra is 15. If a student would be more appropriately placed in the next level up, they will be allowed with an audition.
