Staff Accountant Position
Brooklyn Center Warehouse, 2400 Freeway Blvd., Brooklyn Center, MN 55430

This position is a full-time day position.

This position includes traditional accountant responsibilities reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts, reporting daily and monthly financial results, and working with members of the three other major divisions.

The position is one of a ten-member Finance department that reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Other departments in the Corporate group include the Credit and IS departments.

Educational Requirements:
Required: College Associate Degree (2 yr. Program), with a major in accounting.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree, with a finance / accounting major.

Professional Experience:
Preferred but not required: Some work experience in accounting.

Other Preferences:
Superior Microsoft Excel skills are a huge plus.
Must be able to work well with people of all levels of the organization.

Location is the main Schmitt location and includes office space, warehouse and a retail store, located in the northern Metro on 694 at the Shingle Creek exit. There is no parking cost. Schmitt Music Company is a retail organization located in seven states in the upper Midwest.
