Charles Badami is currently Instructor of Music and Collaborative Pianist at Northwest Missouri State University, where he works with student pianists, the university choirs, vocal and instrumental studios, collaborates with the other faculty and teaches various music courses, such as Enjoyment of Music and Class Piano.  He completed the Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Collaborative Arts degree at Northwestern University's School of Music in Evanston, IL, where he studied with Sylvia Wang and Elizabeth Buccheri.

Charles is a graduate of California State University, Bakersfield, where he studied with Yvonne Endicott and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 1997. He then spent two years at the University of Oregon, and in 1999 received a Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying. While at Oregon, he studied piano and accompanying with Gregory Mason, held a Graduate Fellowship in Accompanying, served as the coach/accompanist for Eugene Opera, and was the conducting masterclass pianist for the Oregon Bach Festival with Helmuth Rilling. Charles then returned to Cal State, Bakersfield as music faculty for six years, where he taught studio piano and accompanying, class piano, music fundamentals, theory, directed the Men’s Chorus, and was in charge of playing/supervising accompanying duties for the department. He was also a frequent and welcomed performer with the Musica da Camera orchestra and other groups. While in the Chicago area, Charles was rehearsal pianist with the Chicago Symphony Chorus for a number of works, including Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand, performed at the Ravinia Festival. He has also been on the faculty of the FIMEL festival of Spanish and Latin American music in Lawrence, KS as a coach and pianist, working with singers from Mexico and Spain, as well as with the renowned Teresa Berganza. He continues to be active as a teacher, piano soloist and accompanist, vocal coach and chamber musician. His current projects include several collaborative recitals with faculty and other artists, as well as a spring solo recital of one of the Schubert sonatas, Chopin etudes Op. 10, and Gershwin/Wild etudes.
