John Paul Donahue II will perform Rachmaninoff, Bach, Blues, original improvisations, and talk briefly about the origins of inspiration and pedagogy and how they relate to music and teaching. He will showcase a student who has shown great progress and motivation, by performing piano duets (2 pianos, 4 hands).

Biography: John Paul Donahue II is an experienced piano instructor at Schmitt Music Edina, who’s been sharing his music for 14 years. He has performed at various venues including the Eau Claire Ragtime Festival, the MSP airport, and Menards in Eden Prairie. John Paul enjoys the challenge of unmasking each person’s innate musical expression with the goal of having each student play music from his or her heart. He is well versed in many styles and focuses on Boogie Woogie, Blues, Ragtime/Stride, and Improvising.
