Schmitt Music Eau Claire will be hosting an employment fair for Chippewa Valley musicians interested in teaching in-store lessons on Friday, July 27 from 12 pm to 5pm.
Interested musicians with teaching experience can simply walk-in during the fair and meet with Schmitt Music’s Director of Education for an interview.
During your interview, you will be asked to play a short 2-3 minute excerpt of a musical piece on the primary instrument you’re applying to teach. Applications are available online – CLICK HERE to download the application.
Please print and complete the application and bring a copy to your interview, or drop it off in advance at Schmitt Music. Applicants may also include a resume, and if possible, please include up to 3 letters of recommendation. References should be listed in your application. Using her “Spirit” series and the newer “Exploring Piano Classics,” Nancy Bachus will focus on how to teach stylistic differences. Related technical patterns and touches will be demonstrated and appleid directly to masterworks, along with ways to help students organize, and learn the importance of a daily “warm-up.”
An overview of technical development will be presented through a planned sequence of progressive technical patterns. Nancy will also be sharing many of her extremely successful teaching techniques.
